Hello to our Community!
It has been nearly 2 months since our last post here on our website, and this has been in part due to our work on Second Wave. Since our last post, The Flame Burns On, we have been working hard to make sure that we can release our upcoming anime FPS / TPS title in time. On March 20th, we finally showed off our gameplay teaser which was featured at the Game Developers Conference 2023 (GDC), and it’s been viewed more than 12,000 times across our social media posts. It was met with great support and love from our beloved community on Discord, and we were able to see reactions in regards to our video in real-time.
Amazing Creators
Suffice to say, that we’ve been incredibly humbled and this type of support has energized us further to push forward with our development. Since our presence at GDC 2023, we’ve received feedback from hundreds of players (nearly 1,000!) that played our demo of Second Wave, and thanks to this, we were able to get right to work on improvements. Thanks to the overwhelming positive reaction from the players that were able to test our game, we decided that it was time to put the game into the hands of the public, focusing on seeing real data from our potential player-base.
Before that, however, we released some “very” early development footage of our First Person Mode, having realized that we did not showcase this very well in our Gameplay Teaser Trailer. This included some of the characters that players will meet when starting up Second Wave, such as Shania Olivier, Bernard Bronzestone, Cozette Russell, Amelda Luce, Ess’el Verto Tenese, Aegis Tefnut, and Michaela Seraphine Lopez. On our Discord, we slightly teased three other characters that would be available as well, Dio Me Zaghmarman, Merope Sessile, and Batu Deidara. We will be unveiling these characters with details and videos very soon.
With our goal of wanting to release Second Wave in 2023, we have decided to hold some playtests early on in order to see what the players enjoy and do not enjoy and more importantly, to develop the game with the players’ voice in mind. Second Wave is a game that is meant to be played time and time again. With an emphasis on fun, we as developers can create a game that we believe to be fun, but without the direct feedback of the player, it is not as effective. As such, we have decided to hold our first playtest on Steam on May 26th–May 28th at 8:00 PM EST (May 27th–May 29th, 0:00 a.m. UTC, 9:00 a.m. KST).
Interested players can choose to opt-in and request access via our game website at playsecondwave.com or on our Steam Page. We encourage our community to Wishlist us on Steam, in order to help us put a spotlight on the game.
Additionally, our Challengers Games developer Steam Page is available to follow, which will alert players of upcoming releases and more.
In regards to the Console playtesting, we wish to inform you, our community, that we are attempting to finish certain requirements provided by the platforms such as Xbox and PlayStation, but at this current moment, we do not believe that we will be able to offer the playtest for Consoles around the same dates as our PC playtest. However, we can confirm that there will be testing for Consoles in the near future.
That is it for now! We are quite excited for players to enter the world of Armantia, and play our game, Second Wave. We hope to see you there on March 26th (March 27th KST). As always, make sure to visit our Discord Server in order to stay up-to-date on all things related to Second Wave and 오신 것을 환영합니다.
